Interior Design
with Silver Waves
Granite
Silver Waves granite is the anchor. This design guide shows you how to build an interior around it — complementary paint colors derived from the stone itself, tile accents that enhance without competing, and hardware choices that tie everything together. Every recommendation here starts with the granite and works outward.
Silver Waves as the Focal Point —
Everything Else Steps Back
The Stone
Silver Waves granite in a polished finish covers the full back wall and floor of the shower surround. Polished is the right call here — the mirror surface amplifies the dramatic white and silver veining and catches the light from the skylight above. The shower floor uses the same slab, keeping the visual field unbroken.
The Accent Tile
A single horizontal band of Umi Naya Brick Red glossy tile runs at eye level across the shower wall. One band only — enough to introduce the warm red without turning it into a competing feature. The glossy finish mirrors the polished granite and ties the two materials together.
The Floor
Leathered black granite throughout the bathroom floor. Not polished — leathered. The matte texture breaks the chain of reflective surfaces and gives the eye somewhere to rest. Practically, it hides water spots and footprints in a way polished black stone never does. Dark near-black grout throughout keeps the floor reading as one continuous surface.
The Vanity
Gloss black shaker-style cabinets with a honed white granite countertop. The black cabinet recedes — it is not trying to be a feature. Honed white rather than polished keeps the countertop from competing with the shower wall. The countertop is completely clear except for a single brushed gold soap tray.
The Hardware
Brushed gold throughout — faucet, shower head, hand shower, linear drain, sconces, towel bar, and toilet flush plate. Not polished brass, not chrome. Brushed gold bridges the warm undertones in the black granite base and the cool silver veining without pulling attention away from the stone. Consistency across every fixture is what makes it feel intentional rather than assembled.
The Art
One large-format piece — black line art on white, simple black frame, no mat. A single continuous line figure drawing in the style of Matisse or Picasso’s line work. Large scale, opposite the vanity. It adds human presence to the room without introducing color or pattern that could fight the stone. One piece only. Nothing else on the walls.
What This Room Deliberately Avoids
The Silver Waves
Color Family
These three paint colors were extracted directly from the Silver Waves granite slab — light, mid, and dark variations of the stone’s own signature gray. Use them on walls, ceilings, cabinetry, or exterior trim to keep everything tonally connected to the stone. Always test a sample in your actual light before committing.
Paint colors shown are the closest available matches to the hex values extracted from the Silver Waves granite slab. Screen calibration and paint sheen affect final appearance — always test a physical sample in your space before painting.
Umi Naya
Brick Red Glossy
The warm brick red of the Umi Naya Brick Red draws out the subtle warm undertones buried in Silver Waves’ black base — tones you might not notice until you place the two materials side by side. The glossy ceramic finish mirrors the polished granite surface, tying the two together without making them match.
Used as a single horizontal band rather than a full field tile, it introduces drama without competition. The stone remains the star. The tile is the accent that makes the stone look even better.

Stones That Work
Alongside Silver Waves
Silver Waves is strong enough to stand alone. When a second stone is needed — a vanity top, a floor, a complementary surface — these two hold their place without fighting it.
Premium Black Granite
A near-solid black granite with minimal movement. Used as a floor or secondary surface, it disappears beneath Silver Waves and lets the veined stone command the space. The contrast between Silver Waves’ white bands and Premium Black’s flat surface creates depth without chaos.
Best for: floors, secondary vanity surfaces
Cygnus Granite
A softer gray with gentle movement — enough texture to be interesting, quiet enough to step back from Silver Waves. Where Silver Waves would be overwhelming as a full shower surround, Cygnus handles the supporting surfaces while Silver Waves takes the feature wall. The two share enough tonal DNA to read as a cohesive palette.
